Great Dixter at Northiam developed by Christopher Lloyd – a beautiful estate just a few miles away

There are farmers and fish markets in Hastings each week

In October in nearby Battle there is a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings attended by many performers There is a Jack in the Green Festival each year in Hastings climaxing in a procession on May Day Hastings has a carnival and firework celebration each year after which Battle, Rye and many other villages follow suit
There are many pubs and restaurants in the area for visitors.
Old Town Carnival 1st week in August.
Hastings Carnival proper is in October.  
There is a big Country Fair in July. 
Proms in the Park and a Beer Festival also in July.  
So many music venues and markets all summer long.
